Have You Ever? 

I  discovered recently  that  the  beauty  of  the  human  existence  is perfectly  expressed  when  it  is  lived  in  accordance  with  the purpose  it  is  designed  for.  In  other  words,  you  only  achieve success  and  self-fulfillment  through  self-discovery!  Better  still, you  set in motion  the  process  of  successful  living  when  you  know who  you  really  are,  what  you  are  born  to  do,  and  how  well  to  do it. 

Self-discovery,  however,  is  perhaps the  vaguest phenomenon  that  has  eluded  the  young-adult  for  so  long  that only  few  ever  attempt  to  unravel  its  mystery.  The  reason  is  that the  youth  is  so  pre-occupied  with  making  a  living  that  he  or  she never  really  makes  a  life  out  of such a  living.  The  question  is,  have you ever  asked  what purpose  you are  designed  for?

Born to Live   

You  are  not  an  accident.  God  conceived  you  in  his  mind  long before  your  parents  conceived  you.  According  to  Rick  Warren, "God  prescribed  every  single  detail  of  your  body.  He  deliberately chose  your  race,  the  colour  of  your  skin,  your  hair,  and  every other  feature.  He  also  determined  the  natural  talents  you  would possess  and the  uniqueness  of  your personality."

Amazingly,  God  not  only  made  you  for  a  reason,  he  also determined  when,  how  and  where  you  would  be  born  and  how long  you  would  live.  God  designed  every  cell,  tissue,  organ  and system  in  your  body  to  work  in  perfect  unison,  to  adapt  and  live on  the  face  of  the  earth,  throughout  the  length  of  days  assigned to  you by  God.

Made to Worship   

Every  single  detail  of  your  body  system  bespeaks  the  handicraft of  God,  the  master  designer  and  grand  creator.  Whether  you  like it  or  not,  everything  about  you  shouts  the  glory  and  wonder  of God as  made manifest in  creation.  

God  created  you in  his  express image  and  likeness,  a  favourable  disposition  denied  even  to angels  and  other  heavenly  hosts  but  made  only  available,  free  of charge,  to  humans. 

God  made  you  exclusively  for  Himself,  to  give  him  glory and  to  worship  him  with  your  whole  life  (thoughts,  words and actions). King  David,  under  great  inspiration,  marveled at the wonders  of  the  human  physiology,  anatomy  and  potential  that he  exclaimed  in  awe,  "I  will  praise  you,  for  I  am  fearfully  and wonderfully  made;  marvelous  are  your  works,  and  that  my  soul knows  very well" (Psalms  139.14  NKJV).  The  twenty-four  heavenly elders  also  worshipped  God  saying,  "Thou  art  worthy,  o  Lord,  to receive  glory  and  honour  and  power:  for  thou  hast  created  all things,  and  for  thy  pleasure  they  are  and  were created" (Revelation  4.11 KJV). 

You  see,  you  are  not  an  accident  of  nature,  but  a  preplanned,  manufactured  product,  and  a  bundle  of  potentials, made to praise and worship  God.  Wow!

Called  to Serve   

Have  you  ever  wondered  why  you  possess  such  unique  qualities, character,  gifts  and  talents  that  distinguish  you  from  other people?  God  intended  you  to  use  those  gifts  as  assets  in  a  useful investment  venture  to  glorify  him,  bless  yourself  and  edify others.  You  are  packed  with  potential,  which  make  up  your SHAPE  (a  combination  of  your  spiritual gifts,  heart desires, abilities,  personality  and experiences).  

Your shape is custom made in such a  way as to help you function well in that environment you find yourself,  maximizing your quality, impacting your world, and becoming a  person of influence.   

In  other  words,  you  are  the  ‘salt’  and  ‘light’  of  the  world, called  to  add  taste  and  flavour  where  there  is  bitterness  and to shine  where  there  is darkness.  Your life is a  solution to a  problem which only you can effectively do.  According to  Apostle  Paul, "God has made us a  life of good deeds,  which he has already prepared for us to do"  (Ephesians 2.10 GNB). 

The Real You    

The  beauty  and  effectiveness  of  our existence will find  its  basis on  your  discovering  who  you  are  (your  identity),  what  you are assigned to do  (your purpose),  and how well to do it  (your mission).  The real you is purposed by design.  That is,  God designed you for the purpose of living a  life of fruitful service to God,  yourself, and humanity.  You are meant to live,  learn,  love, and lead according to  God’s instructions as laid down in the divine manual:  the  Holy  Bible. 

And  the  only  way  you  can what  God intended and designed you to be is to find,  follow, and fulfill your  God-given destiny.  Remember,  he said,  "I  chose you before  I  gave you life, and before you were born  I  selected you to be a  prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah  1.5 GNB).
