BORN TO DO IT
So many people find it really hard to know who they really are and who role has been destined for them in their world.Designed to Function
Perhaps you will grasp the logic better if you pause to ask yourself this question, “ What is my purpose in life?” As difficult or as simple as the answer might be, man still finds it difficult to understand that his life is structured as a problem-solver and solution-provider! In other words, you are on plant earth today because you are meant to fill a particular gap which only you can.
Economic theory postulates that demand is a function of supply. That is, for every supply there is a corresponding demand for it sometime, somewhere. In a nutshell, you have been designed in such a way to as to function in a particular sphere of your world where there is a demand for your gifts. Your life is meant to be a compliment to certain specific individuals, even before you or they were born.
The Bible said, “ I know you before you were formed within your mother’s womb; before you were born. I sanctified you and appointed you as my spokesman to the world” ( Jeremiah 1.5). Efficiency on your part is when you can meet such demand, at the right time and place, to your best ability.
Maximize Your Potential
According to John C Maxwell, “ to have an opportunity to reach and maximize your potential, you must know who you are and face your flaws by seeing yourself clearly, admitting your flaws honestly, discovering your strengths joyfully and building on those strength passionately”.
Your strengths include those gifts, skills, opportunities and resources at your disposal. And your flaws are those weakness that limit your strengths. Moreover, you can only maximize your potential by discovering your self, your world and then directing your efforts towards functioning efficiently and effectively in that area.
Fill the gap
Service is the bedrock of leadership and leadership is the bedrock of human living. The Bible emphasized that “ we are Christ’s ambassadors’ and “Let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing Good” (2 Corinthians 5.20, Hebrews 10.24).
In fact, the attention nowadays is not only on what God can do for individuals but what individuals can do for God! The least you can do as a person is to die empty of your potentials in the service of God and humanity. It costs less and pays more to accept and perform our roles as leaders (see Mathew 5.14-1; 25. 14-30)
Dare to be Different
I discovered, in the hard way, that the solution to unlocking and maximizing my potential is ME, and that if I must make a difference, I have to be different. However, being different requires a daring spirit and a well laid out strategy that weathers all storms. I call this strategy The DRIVE Process of Successful Achievement.
DRIVE stands for the following:
Discover
Recognize and release;
Identify with;
Validate;
Enhance and enable your maximum potentials and impact your world.
Who are you?
You are a unique being, created and specifically equipped with a ‘goldmine’ of potentials, to be an ambassador of the Kingdom of God by the virtue of your status as a human being. You are a leader with an assignment, and a man on a mission.
How can you be sure? According to John Quincy Adams, “ If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” It’s high time you activated that potential to participate in blessing others. Why wait?
You will succeed!
