SUCCESS IS AN ATTITUDE

Sometimes, success in any endeavour does not come as easy as we often anticipate it to be. It is no wonder then why many people get frustrated and give up trying to succeed, even when success is just a few sweat-drops away!

According to Thomas Edison, “Many of life’s failures are just people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

The bitter truth is: everybody wants to be successful but not everybody wants to pay the price for success. In other words, an average human being wants to enjoy the thrills and pleasures of successful achievement but not willing to endure the frills and pains of failure which occasionally dodge their steps as they climb up the ladder to greatness.

In his book, STARTING OVER, Bob Gass argued that success is most often an attitude which must be inculcated in the mind so that even when we experience the inevitable ‘bumps and grinds’ on the road, we would learn to keep bouncing back until we see our dreams come true.

To paraphrase Bob, successful people are ordinary people who overcome their weaknesses and changed history because they had PURPOSE.

Among other things, successful people have the following traits in common:
1. PASSION to succeed;
2. Ability to MOTIVATE others to action and INFLUENCE others to achieve success;
3. CONFIDENCE in God’s ability to sustain them;
4. PERSEVERANCE and COMMITMENT unto the end;
5. Realistic ATTITUDE to deal with life’s realities; and
6. DISCIPLINE to finish the job, come rain come shine!

Most importantly, successful people see CHALLENGES as STEPPING STONES to SUCCESS, they see PROBLEMS as OPPORTUNITIES to develop their innate potentials, and PAINS as the CATALYSTS which bring out the best in them.

Remember, even Jesus Christ had a positive mindset and attitude which saw Him through the ordeals of His ministry and won Him a glorious commendation. The Bible said,
“Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ…Because of this…God raised him to the heights of heaven…” (Philippians 2. 5, 9 TLB)

You will no doubt SUCCEED if you keep PUSHING and TRYING with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

You will succeed if you make success an attitude.
